Blue Corner Dive describes itself as the only dive centre co-founded by a marine biologist and a PADI Course Director, and conservation runs through everything it does. It has two bases in the Nusa Islands: its original dive resort on the beach at Nusa Lembongan, with on-site accommodation and swimming pools, and a 5 Star PADI IDC centre on Nusa Penida's north coast between Toyapakeh and Sampalan, with a large training pool and a small bar.
Both shops dive the same Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area sites, including Manta Point, Crystal Bay (famous for mola mola in season), Toyapakeh and Blue Corner itself. Fun dives go out as two-dive trips with an instructor or divemaster at a maximum of four divers per guide, with snacks and drinks on board, and free motorbike pick-up anywhere on the islands when booking.
As a PADI Career Development Centre, Blue Corner teaches everything from Discover Scuba, Open Water, Advanced and Rescue to specialties, Divemaster and the Instructor Development Course, with its own Course Directors and IDC Staff Instructors. Its Blue Corner Marine Research arm runs coral restoration and conservation programmes, and Lembongan also offers freediving with Fluid Focus Freediving.
At the time of writing, a standard two-dive trip was IDR 1,850,000 (IDR 925,000 per dive for one to five dives, less for six or more), plus the marine park fee and a fuel surcharge for manta dives; the PADI Open Water course was IDR 6,930,000. Check the website for current prices.
