Signature Scuba Gili Gede — SSI and PADI Dive Centre with Beachfront Bungalows in Lombok's Secret Gilis

Signature Scuba Gili Gede is a beachfront dive centre on Gili Gede, the largest island in the Secret Gilis off Sekotong in south-west Lombok. It is part of the Signature Scuba Group, which also runs centres in Kuta Lombok and on Gili Trawangan, and it is led by local instructors including Fandy, who grew up in the Secret Gilis and has been diving professionally since 2016. The centre sits alongside its own family-run beachfront guesthouse, so divers can walk from their bungalow to the boat, and it works with partner resorts on Gili Gede that include free pick-up for diving.

The appeal here is quiet, uncrowded diving: the team says it is often the only boat on the site. Regular dives include the Coral Garden house reef, Gili Layar, Gili Rengit with its rock formations and swim-throughs, Secret Bay for frogfish and seahorses, a Biorock reef, Wreck Point, and the deeper pinnacles and walls of Gili Tangkong and Gili Genting for more experienced divers. Turtles are seen on most dives, along with white-tip and black-tip reef sharks, cuttlefish and a wide range of macro life, and mantas pass through from July to October. Fun-dive days include two dives with lunch on a nearby island, and complimentary underwater photos and video are included.

Training runs from Discover Scuba and Scuba Diver through Open Water, Junior Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and EFR to Divemaster, with specialties in Deep, Enriched Air Nitrox, Navigation, Night, Perfect Buoyancy and Wreck. The centre also runs overnight whale shark trips, a Secret Gilis dive-camping trip, snorkelling trips and an Island Combo package that splits fun dives between Gili Gede and Kuta Lombok. Taxi boats from Tembowong harbour take about ten minutes, and Gili Getaway fast boats link Gili Gede with Bali, Nusa Penida and the northern Gilis.

At the time of writing, two guided fun dives with lunch cost IDR 1,200,000, Discover Scuba Diving IDR 1,050,000, the Open Water course IDR 6,400,000 and the Advanced Adventurer IDR 5,400,000, with overnight whale shark trips from IDR 5,900,000 per person (minimum two people).
