Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort and Spa sits on a hillside above Liang Beach on the western edge of Bunaken Island, inside Bunaken National Marine Park and about 45 minutes by boat from Manado in North Sulawesi. Founded in 2016, it is a small, high-end resort with just twelve private cottages of around 70 square metres, each with a sea-view veranda (family cottages are available), plus an infinity pool overlooking the marine park, a spa and a restaurant and bar above the shoreline. Airport pick-up, the car-and-boat transfer from Manado, full-board dining and laundry are included in stays. The resort won World's Leading Dive Resort at the 2025 World Travel Awards and has taken the Indonesia's Leading Dive Resort category for eight years running.

Diving focuses on Bunaken's famous walls, where reef tops sit at 3 to 5 metres before dropping away, with turtles, reef sharks, big schools of fish and macro life on more than 90 sites the resort visits. Boats carry 4 to 6 guests with a 2:1 diver-to-guide ratio, and Nitrox is free for certified divers. The on-site PADI 5 Star centre teaches from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster, runs Bubblemaker in the pool for children from eight and Junior Open Water from ten, and has a full technical facility offering TDI and PADI tech training with trimix, Nitrox and oxygen blending, support for Halcyon Symbios and Poseidon Se7en rebreathers, sidemount and twinset rental and underwater scooters. Freediving courses (maximum two students per instructor), guided snorkelling and a camera room for photographers round things off, and full rental equipment is available.

Sustainability is part of the set-up: no single-use plastic, on-site water makers, the island's first blackwater treatment system, a no-touch, no-anchor diving policy, Green Fins practices and work with the No Trash Triangle Initiative. The resort says it was the first in the area to receive the PADI Eco-Resort accolade, and more than 97% of its team are Indonesian, many from Bunaken itself.

At the time of writing, prices were published in euros: accommodation from €650 per person for one night or €3,192 for seven nights on a double-occupancy basis, and dive packages from €450 for five dives to €855 for ten dives, including tanks, weights, boat, guides and Nitrox. Single-occupancy rates are higher in March, April, October and November. Details are from the operator's own website and official channels; check current rates before booking.
