Evolution Diving Resort is a small, owner-operated beachfront resort on Malapascua Island with 16 air-conditioned rooms and its own restaurant, The Craic House. Recreational training follows the SDI system, from Discover Scuba and Open Water to Rescue and instructor-level courses, while the centre is also a TDI Five Star facility with trimix, sidemount and closed-circuit rebreather support.
Days typically begin with an early trip to Kimud Shoal for the pelagic thresher sharks, with Monad Shoal visited for a chance of tiger sharks and mantas. Reef and macro sites include Gato Island, the Lighthouse, Lapus Lapus, Bugtong Bato, Dakit Dakit, Chocolate Island and a muck-diving house reef, and technical divers can visit the WWII wreck Mogami Maru at around 50 metres. Rental gear is Apeks and Aqualung, with nitrox and helium available.
Evolution does not publish fun-dive prices online and asks divers to contact the resort for current rates; at the time of writing a PHP 5,000 advance payment was required to confirm fun-dive bookings.
