Phoenix Divers has been running on Koh Lanta since 2002 and is a PADI 5 Star IDC centre with an eco-friendly emphasis: the team takes part in beach clean-ups and runs PADI AWARE courses. Course ratios are capped at three students per instructor, from entry level through specialties such as Nitrox and Digital Underwater Photographer to professional training, and the centre also teaches freediving. Its shop stocks Mares, Cressi, Scubapro and Aqualung equipment.
Day trips go by speedboat. Two-dive trips visit Koh Bida and the Kled Kaew wreck, Koh Haa, Koh Waen and the Trang 666 train wreck, or Koh Rok. A three-dive trip combines Hin Daeng, Hin Muang and Koh Haa. Other sites the centre lists include Hin Bida, Anemone Reef and the King Cruiser wreck. Trips include full equipment rental, lunch, soft drinks, resort transfers and a guide.
At the time of writing, two-dive day trips were 3,800 THB (4,000 THB to Koh Rok). The Hin Daeng three-dive trip was 5,900 THB and Nitrox cost 250 THB per tank.
