Bali Fab Dive — French-Run PADI 5 Star Dive Centre in Amed with Free Dorm Beds

Bali Fab Dive is a French-run PADI 5 Star dive centre that opened in 2013 in Purwakerti, a quiet village at the entrance to Amed with views of Mount Agung. Its team of Balinese and Western instructors teaches in English, French, Dutch, Spanish, German and Indonesian, and dives are run in small groups of no more than four divers per guide or instructor.

The centre has its own pool for training and refresher sessions, and a guest house with fan and air-conditioned dormitories, a shared kitchen and chill-out areas. Backpacker divers get one night of free dorm accommodation for every day of diving, and private bungalows and rooms can be arranged nearby. Hotel transfers within Amed and Tulamben are included.

Daily diving covers more than a dozen sites along the Amed and Tulamben coast, including the USAT Liberty wreck, the Japanese wreck, Kubu and Seraya Secrets, with night dives, Nitrox, equipment hire, snorkelling trips and day trips to see manta rays at Nusa Penida. Courses run from Discover Scuba and PADI Open Water to Advanced, EFR, Rescue and Divemaster, plus specialties including Nitrox, Wreck, Deep, Night, Navigation and Digital Underwater Photography, and a two-month Zero to Hero programme.

Published 2026 prices were IDR 1,000,000 for two shore dives in Amed or Tulamben with equipment, IDR 1,100,000 for two dives at Kubu, Seraya Secrets or the Japanese wreck, IDR 100,000 per tank for Nitrox and IDR 5,400,000 for the PADI Open Water course. Check the website for current rates.
