Jukung Dive Bali has been running from Amed Beach since 2004 and was the area's first PADI 5 Star dive resort. The family-run resort has ten rooms and bungalows, two swimming pools and its own compressor, and a sister resort operates on Nusa Penida. PADI training runs from Discover Scuba Diving, refreshers and kids' programmes through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and specialties to Divemaster, and freediving courses are also offered. English is standard, with other languages, including Mandarin, often available.
Shore and boat dives cover Jemeluk Bay and Wall, Amed Wall, Coral Garden, the Pyramids, Bunutan, the Japanese wreck and Gili Selang, with trips north to the USAT Liberty, the Drop Off and Seraya Secrets at Tulamben. Nitrox is available, dive computers, GoPros, torches and 15-litre tanks can be hired, and underwater photo and video packages can be added to any trip. The centre works with Green Fins and is recommended by several major guidebooks.
At the time of writing, the published Amed price list showed one shore dive from US$45, two shore dives at US$65, two boat dives at Jemeluk or the Pyramids at US$75, Nitrox at US$5 a tank and the PADI Open Water course from US$375. Rooms start at around US$30 a night. Check the resort's website for current rates.
