Liberty Dive Resort is a PADI Dive Resort on the main road through Tulamben, on Bali's northeast coast, just steps from the beach and the famous USAT Liberty wreck. Guided shore dives go to the Liberty, the Drop Off and Coral Garden, with boat and shore trips to Seraya Secrets and Amed's sites, and night dives on the wreck. Tulamben's black-sand slopes are known for macro life such as ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorses, harlequin shrimp and mimic octopus, which makes the resort popular with underwater photographers.
The resort has a swimming pool with views of Mount Agung, an open-air restaurant, a coffee corner and three styles of accommodation: Resort Rooms by the pool and garden, Standard, Deluxe and Luxury Garden Cottages, and Family Rooms including a Deluxe Family Villa. Dive packages include a full set of equipment, and Nitrox is free for certified divers.
PADI courses run from Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water through Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water, Enriched Air Diver and Emergency First Response to Rescue Diver. At the time of writing, a guided day shore dive with full equipment cost IDR 612,500 and a night dive on the Liberty IDR 787,500, while a full-day boat trip to Nusa Penida's Manta Point and Crystal Bay was IDR 2,975,000 for two dives. Dive-and-stay packages, such as four days and three nights with eight guided dives, were listed from around USD 312 to 349 per person. Check the website for current rates.
