Mimpi Resort Tulamben is a beachfront resort on the Tulamben coast of north-east Bali, at the foot of Mount Agung, with its own PADI dive centre beside the pool. It is the sister property of Mimpi Resort Menjangan in west Bali, and the dive team takes guests to the USAT Liberty, the Second World War cargo ship that lies in 5 to 30 metres of water just off the black-sand beach.
Around Tulamben the team dives the Liberty, the Drop-off wall, the Coral Garden, Palung Palung, Alamanda, Batu Kelebit, Emerald and Melasti, with Seraya and the Boga wreck at Kubu a short drive away. Day trips also run to Amed for the Pyramids and Jemeluk Bay. Shore dives, boat dives and night dives are all offered, and the area's black-sand slopes are known for nudibranchs and other macro life.
Courses follow PADI: Bubble Maker for children from eight, Discover Scuba Diving, Scuba Refresher, Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver. Open Water referral courses are available for divers who have completed their theory and pool sessions at home. The resort also sells Learn and Stay and Intro to Diving packages.
On the dive centre's published price list, a guided Tulamben shore dive costs IDR 415,000, a boat dive IDR 520,000 and a shore night dive IDR 485,000, each including full equipment, tank, weights, guide and porter. Shore dives outside Tulamben, such as Seraya, Melasti and Kubu, are IDR 495,000 including transfer, and a two-dive Amed day trip is IDR 1,250,000.
