Manta Dive Gili Air — SSI Dive Resort since 2008

Manta Dive Gili Air opened in 2008 with a few rooms, one boat and a dozen sets of equipment, and has grown into a beachfront dive resort with traditional bungalows, garden rooms, deluxe bungalows and pools, plus a sister centre on Gili Trawangan. It is an SSI 5 Star Training Facility and also teaches PADI courses, from Try Scuba and Open Water through Advanced, Rescue and a long list of specialties, including Enriched Air Nitrox and Digital Underwater Photography, to Divemaster, with instructor training run through the Trawangan centre.

Guides take groups of up to five divers to sites around all three Gilis, including Shark Point, Halik, Meno Wall, Turtle Heaven, Hans Reef, Air Wall, Simon's Reef, Bounty and Deep Turbo. The team works with the Gili Eco Trust and has built more than a dozen Biorock reef-restoration structures in front of the resort. Instructors speak several languages, including German, French, Spanish and Indonesian.

The resort does not publish standard fun-dive prices online; multi-dive discounts of 10 to 20% apply, and divers who bring their own equipment get a further discount. Contact the resort directly for current rates.
