The Blue Abyss Dive Shop — Moalboal PADI Dive Centre since 1997

The Blue Abyss Dive Shop has operated from the seafront in Basdiot, Moalboal since 1997 and holds PADI Dive Center status (S-29588). It teaches in small groups from Discover Scuba Diving through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and Divemaster, and also lists PADI TecRec options such as Self-Reliant, Sidemount and Tec 40. A small attached resort offers air-conditioned twin and family rooms with breakfast.

Its dive programme covers Pescador Island and its vertical chimney, White Beach, Dolphin House, Talisay, the Tongo and Tuble sanctuaries, Umbrella with its small aircraft wreck, Sampaguita and Saavedra Fish Sanctuary. The house reef is pitched as a macro site, with frogfish, harlequin shrimp, mandarinfish at dusk and turtles on most dives, and night dives on the Advanced course are run there.

At the time of writing, the shop's published prices started at PHP 1,650 for a shore dive including marine park fee, with nitrox at an extra PHP 250 per dive, Discover Scuba Diving at PHP 2,500 and the Open Water Diver course at PHP 19,495. Equipment rental is charged separately.
