Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, in the middle of the Sulu Sea, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most protected reef systems in Asia. Its walls drop into deep blue water, with whitetip and grey reef sharks, schooling jacks and barracuda, turtles, mantas and the occasional whale shark or tiger shark.
The reefs are around 150 kilometres from Puerto Princesa and can only be reached by liveaboard, during a short season from roughly mid-March to mid-June when seas are calm. Trips sell out early, and divers are usually expected to hold an Advanced certification and some experience.
The operators below run Tubbataha liveaboard trips departing from Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
